“What is Political About This?” was organised by ASLA on 24th September 2026. Through their presentations, participants demonstrated their ability to critically analyse ordinary situations and relate them to broader political concepts.
The aim of the “What Is Political About This?” activity was to encourage students to identify and analyse the political dimensions of everyday situations. The event aimed to develop critical thinking, observation, analytical reasoning, and communication skills by helping participants connect familiar experiences with broader political concepts such as power, authority, equality, social practices, and access to resources.
The “What Is Political About This?” activity provided students with an interactive platform to explore the presence of politics in everyday life beyond formal political institutions and processes. The activity fostered critical thinking, originality, analytical reasoning, and effective communication while promoting a deeper understanding of the relevance of politics in everyday experiences.
