A Guest Lecture on “Pre and Post Cochlear Implant Counselling, Candidacy for Cochlear Implant and Recent Advancement in Cochlear Implant” was organised by AMS on 23rd September 2026. The session enhanced their understanding of cochlear implant candidacy, pre-implant counselling, patient and family expectations, and the importance of multidisciplinary collaboration throughout the implantation and rehabilitation process.
The aim of the guest lecture was to enhance students’ understanding of cochlear implantation, including candidacy assessment, pre-implant counselling, advancements in cochlear implant technology, and auditory rehabilitation. The session aimed to familiarize students with contemporary clinical practices, realistic outcome expectations, and the multidisciplinary approach involved in cochlear implantation, thereby bridging theoretical knowledge with practical applications in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology.
The guest lecture by Dr. Sanjay Sachdeva provided students with valuable insights into cochlear implantation, current clinical practices, and advancements in ENT surgery. The lecture strengthened students’ clinical awareness and helped them connect academic knowledge with practical applications in audiology and speech-language pathology.
